Projects from my position of Graphic Designer/Marketing assistant for Student Life at Portland Community College

Shades of Silhouettes Fashion Show

The Student Engagement office held a fashion show with the intention of celebrating all body types, abilities, ages, and gender identities. The figures were chosen for their diverse shapes and sizes in the forms of silhouettes to exclude details and features. Each figure was outlined with a loose contour line which brings attention to the varying shades and transparencies to support the title of the show.

PCC Clubs Logo

The Clubs office wanted a rebrand that works with the other logos in Student Life offices. The specs were very specific with a rainbow coming out of the clouds with the sun peaking out and a banner bearing the Clubs name. The Hobeaux font and color palette were taken directly from the Student Engagement logo. The client requested options with and without rain, and with and without the school name.

Clear Clinic Illustration

The CLEAR Clinic at Portland Community College works with students for housing justice, immigration justice, and criminal record relief. They wanted a hand-illustrated graphic for t-shirts and posters. The image prompts were “Migration is Sacred”, “Possibility Growing”, and The Abolitionist Movement. I sketched images dealing with breaking chains and locks with nature reclaiming brittle and rusted systems. The Monarch butterfly is also a symbol of strength, endurance and renewal of life. The specs included text using American Typewriter to mimic legal paperwork using a modern magenta color that is also used in the flowers of the design.

Student Engagement Social Media digital displays

One of my responsibilities at Portland Community College was designing social media content, digital banners and print flyers for upcoming events put on by Student Life. Assets were created using Adobe programs and imported to Canva for accessibility.
